Symbolizing vastness, creativity, and dependability blue is associated with creative voice, authority, confidence and the watery nature of our inner creative worlds. 

Blue's association with the water element indicates cycle and season, rising and falling, freezing and vaporizing, shapeshifting and condensing. Consider the cyclical nature of water as allegoric/metaphoric to the creative and emotional processes. As our creative expression/emotion works its way through the atmosphere it gathers density then falls from sky (inspiration) to earth (manifestation in the physical) where it nourishes becomes, grows, and expands animating our individuated expression and ennobling our collective creative nature.
